Daytona Beach Regional Medical School Campus - College of Medicine
Creates and maintains complex rotation schedules for third and fourth year medical students in conjunction with the Regional Campus Dean, clerkship directors and community faculty physicians assuring appropriate contact hours and exposure to medical specialties for each student. Manages changes and modifications to schedules as needed for students and physicians. Assists clerkship directors in the management and administration of the clinical rotations.
Monitors and coordinates the collection of student performance evaluation data from courses and clerkships to include faculty assessments, physicians' staff evaluations, patient satisfaction surveys, clerkship directors narrative summaries, patient encounter data from the Electronic Tracking System (ETS), and other relevant data. Monitors and coordinates course and clerkship evaluation data used to evaluate the educational experience.
Maintains on-going communications with community physicians, staff, and students regarding program requirements, deadlines, rotation changes, etc. Maintains direct contact with physicians and physicians' staff assuring completion of the various evaluations and maintaining good public relations on behalf of the regional campus.
Continuously updates, compiles, and tracks medical student requirements and electives for year 3 and 4. Assures the accuracy of web course scheduling, drop/add documentation, etc. Actively participates in the development, implementation, and interpretation of administrative policies and procedures related to the clinical rotation program. Assists in the preparation of educational materials used in clinical rotations and meetings.
Actively participates as part of a team in the functions and mission of the Regional Campus to include activities and curriculum delivery.
Administers course schedule details and production of materials for Doctoring 3 and Community Medicine courses. This includes assignment of faculty and sites, compilation of lecture materials, and distribution of materials to appropriate participants. Monitors completion of course requirements by students.
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Experience demonstrating effective customer service skills and communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and working in an office setting as a team.
Experience interpreting academic program requirements and providing advice.
Proficiency prioritizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously and meeting project deadlines.
Proficiency with applicable computer programs such as Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word or comparable programs.
Outstanding problem solving skills.
Experience with student program planning, documentation, development, and evaluation.
Knowledge of and ability to apply accreditation and/or compliance standards of applicable association, bureau, or other recognized governing entity in area of work.
