Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina seeking a Student Services Manager I in the School of Engineering.  This position is responsible for planning, writing, editing, publishing and updating program information as it relates to policies, procedures and services available to students, faculty, and staff.  Maintains The School of Engineering webpage, adding new content or creating new pages.  Responsible for promoting the School of Engineering and all related programs through the Social Media pages and LinkedIn; as well as prepares and/or updates brochures for programs.

 Responsible for directing departmental Program Coordinator & Administrative Assistant in their roles by as well as supervises Graduate Assistants on tasks, assignments and ongoing projects within the School of Engineering.  Serve as the primary resource to answer questions or concerns related to Academics or Finance; Train Department Staff on new job duties related to their position; works directly with department staff to monitor and assist in addressing their needs and performance in effective semester advising for ABET Accreditation requirements. 

Lead role for SOE Executive Advisory Board (Fall/Spring), Academy of Engineers (Annual), Alumni Homecoming Reunion, Special campus events related to departments or the Dean of Engineering.  Plans & implement Pre-Knob “Class Observations” for the School of Engineering classes. Supportive role for Departmental Advisory Board Meetings, Engineers Week (MathCounts, Bridge, Robotics and Water Bottle Rocket Competitions), Banquet for Engineers Week, Departmental Senior Awards Banquets, Departmental Graduation Dinners, SAME chapter meetings (Semester basis). Serves as the SOE Representative for the Institutional Planning Committee (IPC), Citadel Communications Council, Citadel Web Community, Citadel STEM Education Research Group and other committees.  Supervises STEM SI Leaders to assist students struggling in an assigned STEM courses; Meet with STEM SI Leaders on a weekly basis for ongoing training; Collaborates with the Academic Support Center to hire and train SI Leaders, promotion of the program, as well as evaluate data gathered on the program.

Oversee outreach and engagement programs for freshman & sophomore students. Manages Engineering Career & Networking Expo event as well as coordinating Internship/Co-Op/Job opportunities for students.   Counsels at-risk engineering students who are in jeopardy of failing, withdrawing from courses, or leaving the major (Early Alert System).  Coordinates data processing procedures related to student services areas within the School of Engineering (i.e. Enrollment, Midterm and Final Grade Reporting).

 Responds to inquiries from enrolled, prospective students and the public concerning engineering programs at The Citadel; Establishes and maintains files of office correspondence, documents, reports and other records; Serves as a liaison with the general public and offices on campus including Commandants Office, CGC, External Affairs, Facilities, Finance, Procurement, other Schools, Student Activities and The Citadel Foundation; Event Management System (EMS) Coordinator for Room Reservations in the Bernard Gordon Seminar Room.   Manages school-wide calendar and SharePoint site to ensure cross-communication is occurring.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience. Have a basic understanding of college-wide administrative policies, purchasing and accounting procedures and policies. A knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Dreamweaver, and PowerPoint. Also, an understanding on how to setup a website.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree preferred.
