Promise Scholarship Program Manager

Schedule Information: M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Duties of Position:
Responsible for all facets of project management, communication and event planning of the Promise Scholarship Program with little direct daily supervision.
Acts as a liaison and independently represents the Promise Scholarship Program to internal and external constituencies
Monitors the Promise Scholarship Program budget during the fiscal year, maintains running record of expenditures, serves as cost center manager for the Promise Scholarship Program, and prepares the annual program budget.
Facilitates regular meetings with the Promise Executive Team as well as with high school partners, counselors, students, and parents (as applicable).
Stays abreast of national, state, and local trends affecting Promise Programs.
Conducts on-going analysis of Promise Scholarship Program processes to identify opportunities for policy or procedural improvements including attending professional conferences to keep current with best practices surrounding Promise programs and makes recommendations to help ensure the program is cutting-edge, and continues to meet the needs of the College and the Promise Scholars.
Prepares reports related to Promise Scholarship Program application, retention and appeal numbers.
Communicates with students and advisors to resolve issues and manages appeals process
Monitors the Promise Scholarship Program email aliases and website, keeping FAQs and Promise Scholarship Program operational and policy guidelines current.
Collaborates with Student Development and Enrollment Services (Admissions, One Stop, Registrar, Accounting, Financial Aid) to ensure coordinated delivery of services for all Promise Scholars, particularly during registration periods.
Collaborates with the Harper College Educational Foundation as it relates to donor stewardship and with the Job Placement Resource Center (JPRC) and other employers to ensure internship possibilities and workforce connections for Promise Scholars.
Verifies eligibility status for all Promise Scholars and submits ‘a bill’ for scholarship reimbursement to the Harper College Educational Foundation at the end of each semester (fall and spring) while the Promise Scholar is enrolled at Harper College
Plans, develops and executes engagement strategies for Promise Scholars, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to gain support and understanding of Promise Scholarship Program objectives and level of participation.
Conducts end-of-term and end-of-academic year analyses to assess and track continuing eligibility status of awardees. Updates student records with revised scholarship data and award as needed. Generates metrics to analyze and measure overall Promise Scholarship Program performance.
Prepares leadership/media reports on status of Promise Scholarship Program and its overall performance, providing data on student participation levels, sourcing high schools, retention and completion statistics, application/eligibility trends, and program costs.
Develops and conducts presentations/trainings to management and staff on Promise Scholarship Program metrics, best practices, policies, and procedures. Provides support to college-led Promise Scholarship Program events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree is preferred. Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Three years of progressively responsible project management. Experience preparing and monitoring budgets, working with students, and has a working knowledge of financial aid processes.
