Art History - One Year Full Time Position
The Wells College Visual Arts Program invites applications for a full-time one-year position in Art History beginning in August 2018. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 course load of undergraduate survey courses in Art History, with the possibility of teaching one special topics course in accordance with candidate’s specialization and the college’s curricular needs. Additionally, the successful candidate will supervise a senior project in Art History. Particular competence in modern and contemporary art is preferred, but the successful candidate will teach survey courses ranging from Prehistoric to Contemporary periods. The search committee welcomes applications from those with secondary research interests in one or more of the following areas: Museum Studies, Film and Media Studies, Non-Western Art History or Literature, Gender Studies, or Book Arts. Ph. D. and previous teaching experience preferred, although A.B.D. candidates with strong qualifications will be considered.
