Schedules, coordinates, and contracts public events, seminars, conferences, athletic events, and services for campus and/or community organizations. Arranges various aspects of events including space reservations, catering requests, technical requirements, security, parking, staffing, or various other services; creates the appropriate environment for effective events and meetings. Serves as manager of the customer service process, receiving customer input and responding with a plan of action; coordinates with the Comptroller and Bursar on billing and collection of contract fees. Works closely with Campus Police, Food Services, Athletics Department, Physical Plant, Audio Visual, and Computer Services to ensure adequate information is presented to the customer; coordinates the allocation of revenue and payment for services related to events. Supervises and ensures adequate staffing for events and set ups. Maintains direct contact with personnel associated with scheduled events; attends events to facilitate operations and respond to problems and emergencies. Reviews rental applications; recommends supervisor approval or denial. Flexible schedule and evening/weekend work required; performs other related duties as required. Employee may be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Post-secondary education or equivalent; college degree preferred. A minimum of two years hotel or conference center experience; excellent quantitative, oral and written communication and problem-solving/strategizing skills. Excellent overall computer skills with advance knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; exceptional customer service skills are essential. Valid State of Georgia driver’s license required; background and/or credit check may be required.
