Job description

Duties: The Project Director will coordinate, manage, and evaluate the operations of the Goldring Re-entry Initiate (GRI), a program designed to equip Masters of Social Work (MSW) students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the criminal justice field, and to address the barriers many incarcerated individuals face upon release. The position will provide on-site supervision to Goldring Reentry Initiative students in agencies and prison. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining GRI security clearance to access various Philadelphia Prison System (PPS) facilities; ensuring that students have a safe space to meet with clients; ensuring that students have access to computers and phones while in PPS. Facilitate client and student pairing throughout the academic year and ensure safety protocol is followed in and outside of the prisons. Plan weekly student integrative seminar. Maintain and protect programmatic and client information/data for longitudinal evaluations. Continually evaluate and make changes to program structure/service provision as needed to ensure program efficacy. In conjunction with Field Director, develop new GRI placements and manage existing relationships. Plan and oversee annual GRI Breaking Down Walls event. Create and maintain an advisory committee comprised of professionals in various fields directly and indirectly connected with criminal justice. Serve as community liaison.

Qualifications: A Master's Degree or more and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) is highly preferred and at least two years of supervisory experience of MSW students is required. Previous experience working with a field education department in a graduate MSW program highly preferred. Experience in prisoner re-entry and a good working experience with the Philadelphia Prison System is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and mediation skills as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
