The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder is inviting applications for a Wellness Coach Program Manager. This position serves a key role within the Office of Health Promotion, a department within CU Boulder Health and Wellness Services, located within the Division of Student Affairs.
The Wellness Coach Program Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a peer wellness coach program in residence to support the health and wellness needs of incoming University of Colorado Boulder students. This position will also be responsible for training and supervising student peer wellness coaches and developing effective outreach strategies to support the peer wellness coach program that address the experience of first-year, transfer and graduate students. The manager will also work closely with the Health Promotion team in developing educational materials to support the well-being of peer coaches and those they coach, and will support the evaluation and growth of the program.

Health Promotion is responsible for assessing, building capacity, strategic planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with the University’s health and wellness prevention priorities.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Program Development and Implementation
- Assist in the development and implementation of a culturally sensitive health and wellness peer coaching program.
- Supervise peer wellness coach interactions with their peers, including but not limited to matching students requesting coaching with peer coaches, observing coach interactions, providing feedback to the peer coaches.
- Create tools and templates to be used by the peer coaches such as coaching templates, goal setting workshops, reflection tools, coaching assessments, etc.
- Implement a process for referrals that assist peer coaches in setting boundaries and recognizing when someone needs to be referred for additional support.
- Develop a cohort based training matrix for peer wellness coaches.
- Assess the impact of the peer coaching program and opportunities for growth.
Campus Representation and Partnerships
- Collaborate with campus partners in program development, practices and initiatives, including the development of a coaching community of practice.
- Serve as a member of the Health Promotion team in developing new initiatives or policies that address campus student wellness priorities.
- Serve as a representative of Health Promotion on campus-wide committees and working groups that work to meet campus health and wellness priorities as they relate to social and academic student success.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of Health Promotion prevention and intervention activities and the Student Affairs Health and Wellness Initiative.
- Attend conferences and professional institutes to stay relevant and build a professional network that enhances the potential of Health Promotion at CU Boulder.
What We Can Offer
The anticipated starting annual salary for this position is $52,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion or a closely related field.
- At least four years of experience in health and wellness outreach or wellness coaching programs.
- Experience in designing and delivering educational/training programs.
What You Will Need
- Ability to apply wellness coaching principles and theory to a college age population.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience working independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Demonstrated understanding of student development and behavior change theories and the applicability to student wellness.
- Openness and flexibility in knowledge for growth of expertise, learning, and effectiveness of programs.
- Sound understanding of health needs and impacts on college students.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Experience providing direct health or wellness services to college aged students.
- Coaching certification from a program accredited by the International Coaching Federation, Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience providing direct Health or Wellness services to college aged students.
