Posting Summary:
The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia seeks a new Financial Aid Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for all activities related to student financial aid in the School of Nursing. The incumbent creates financial aid award packages for all new and continuing nursing students in keeping with federal and state regulations, university endowment policies and donor restrictions. The Coordinator maintains the award and scholarship database in coordination with internal and external partners. The incumbent writes and maintains reports to meet compliance for grants and funding sources for recruitment, enrollment, student scholarships, and financial aid. The Financial Aid Coordinator participates in institutional initiatives that support process improvement in financial aid administration and donor stewardship.

An Associate's degree is required, A Bachelor's degree is preferred. The ability to interpret and apply policy in daily work is essential. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills are imperative. The ability to prioritize tasks and projects, as well as the ability to work independently and with a diverse team is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and the ability to quickly learn new software is essential. Two years of experience working in financial aid or student services is highly preferred, experience gained while pursuing a degree will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with specialized knowledge of federal,state, and university financial aid and award programs, regulations, and guidelines. The ability to work with diverse populations is highly desirable. Preference will be given to applicants with working knowledge of database management (Peoplesoft, Slate, Oracle).
