Minimum Education/Experience: Graduation from a physician assistant program approved by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and "approved to practice medical acts" based on education and experience by the Board of Medical Examiners; or graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the North Carolina Joint Subcommittee and licensed by the NC Board of Nursing. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Job Duties: A physician extender is needed to work in collaboration with supervising physicians to provide comprehensive outpatient and urgent medical care in the Monk Geriatric Center and the Family Medicine Center. The selected candidate will be responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic disease as part of the Family Medicine Center at the Brody School of Medicine. Work schedule is an average of 40 hours per week. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
