The Biostatistics Center is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center’s Research Associate is to manage a research team. The position assists with research study management and administration and works independently as well as in a team serving as the Coordinating Center for NIH funded clinical research study: Pulmonary Complications in a Birth Cohort after a Randomized Trial of Antenatal Corticosteroids: the ALPS Follow-Up Study (ALPS FSP).

Duties most typically performed by this position include:

-Oversees the coordination of regulatory and compliance activities of clinical sites for all activities. Ensures the proper implementation and documentation of quality assurance activities of the Study.
-Provides day-to-day clinical center oversight including data management, Study participant visit completion reports, as well as training and certification pertaining to the Study protocol.
-Manages work scope and workload for coordinating center research staff; provides functional and administrative supervision over supporting research staff, and transfers technical expertise.
-Oversees the development and maintenance of Study policies and standard operating procedures for the execution of key responsibilities and tasks pertaining to the Study. Assists with final study documentation and archival.
-Supervises the planning of Study meetings and various staff training (including agenda, logistics, minutes, and implementation support), as needed.
-Oversees the posting and organization of the content of the Study website, which provide access to documents and information required by investigators, network staff, medical monitors, and the general public.
-Evaluates and develops optimal information management measures to ensure accurate staff communication as it pertains to the Study. This includes tracking of essential information and complex report generation.
-Maintains intermittent communication with The Biostatistics Center Systems Support staff and Administrative staff relating to systems and administrative details according to Study needs.
-Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

-Knowledge of SAS or other programming language
-Genetics experience may be a plus
-Experience in data management
-Strong analytical problem-solving skills
-Proficient user of MS Office Suite.
-Strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills
-High level of accuracy and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently
