Occupational Summary:

To provide ongoing, regular maintenance of Materials Management Systems master data, primarily materials data, and to serve as a departmental technical resource for the department.

Duties:
Regularly maintain SAP Material Master data, to include adding new materials, changing existing materials, deleting existing materials, and performing mass data loads. (80%)

Regularly monitor electronic transmissions of SAP purchasing documents and troubleshoot errors.

Periodically verify contract prices of items added to the SAP material master.

Periodically assist with electronic price updates to the SAP material master.

Periodically assist with mass data loads of contracts, info records, source lists and other SAP purchasing master data.

Regularly assist with the ongoing development and maintenance of the materials maintenance process.

Regularly provide statistical reports for work-load data indicators, vendor performance, materials evaluation and other ad hoc data.

Periodically provide training to departmental employees, and Duke community as needed, on current Materials Management Systems, including SAP.

Periodically provide backup for departmental computer networking and desktop support.

Regularly assist with special projects using SAP, Excel, and Access.

Regularly assist with month-end closing procedures.

Periodically perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Work requires analytical skills normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in mathematics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent technical training in a computer-related field

EXPERIENCE

Work requires 2-3 years of experience utilizing relational database management systems, spreadsheets, and other desktop applications in a related field to become familiar with data management techniques. Experience with SAP, and Materials Management, particularly in a Healthcare environment, is preferred.
