General Purpose

Perform a variety of intermediate and advanced statistical, data management and technical activities associated with conducting health services research with large complex health data sets including, but are not limited to, the statistical design, preparing complex data requests, complex data management of large secondary data sets, and data analysis. This work is in support of the NBCRNA and CRNA research study. Supervisor: This position reports to the project Principal Investigator and the Research Practice Manager.

Essential Duties
  • Use advanced SAS programming skills to utilize existing SAS programming code for complex, multi- year national health care datasets to support construction of complex variables.
  • Perform a variety of intermediate and advanced data management, statistical and technical activities for the statistical design, data collection, data compilation, data management, and data analysis, under the leadership of the PI of a research team.
  • Guide the development and training of project staff engaged in the collection, tabulation, management, and analysis of statistical data using a Linux server and advanced SAS analysis techniques.
  • Work as a member of the research team to support complex data management of large data sets.
  • Assist in the statistical design, execution and analysis data for the study.
  • Perform data programing, management, and cleaning. Construct complex analytical datasets from multiple health data files, creating longitudinal trajectories
  • Structure and maintain data files for proper access and use.
  • Ensure data security. Responsible for maintenance and dissemination of comprehensive code books to investigator for each dataset.
  • Monitor database performance and serve as a quality control agent for database use.
  • Operate computer hardware and statistical analysis software to manage and analyze data in a Linux environment.
  • Prepare written reports and results sections of manuscripts as required.
  • Provide oral presentations of statistical or technical scientific information to inform and report on the progress of research studies.
