Position Summary

Leads the reappointment, promotion and tenure and no pay mass update process. Reviews, approves, and processes fixed-term faculty/ academic/grad/undergrad human resource personnel actions (hires, re-appointments, rehires, terminations, additional assignments, change of statuses, and change of positions, etc.) in compliance with laws, policies and procedures. Actions and processing for academicon-call, fixed term, GEU, UNTF fixed term, continuing systems, contract, rolling contract and rolling fixed employment groups.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads the Reappointment,. Promotion and Tenure (RPT) and No Pay Mass Update (NPMU) process for the University. Coordinates various University stakeholders for submission, review and completion of actions approved in the RPT and NPMU process. 

Process Forms: Reviewing, approving, and processing faculty/academic Grad/Undergrad personnel forms in accordance with contracts,polices and laws. Reviewing background checks, degree verification & requirements, I-9 paperwork, and all other required signed paperwork and contracts.

Form Follow-up: Following up on missing forms, signatures, contracts, authorizations, and other missing information with departments, unit administrators, and initiators via phone or email.

Analyzing records: For benefit eligibility, retirement eligibility, current retirement credit, degree verification, accuracy of rank/title information, accuracy of benefit groups, and accuracy of documentation received. Also, analyzes payroll areas to ensure that payroll is accurate and timely.

Customer Service: Responding to internal and external questions from university administrators, fiscal officers, departments, and individual employees regarding faculty/academic policies, form submission procedures, contracts, regulations, required documentation for submission, benefit eligibility, form status, rank/title requirements, salary requirements, etc.

Graduate Support: Compiles and analyzes necessary reports for Graduate/Undergraduate and Professorial Assistant processing. Serve as liaison between HR and The Graduate School. Analyzes and interpret contractual provisions related to the Graduate Employees Union (GEU) and serves as subject matter expert for the HR payroll system related processes/policy changes. Maintains HR website.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human resources area or related field; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible and expansive work experience in a human resources area related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Human Resources Administration, Labor and Industrial Relations, or a related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in human resources administration, human resource systems, project management, data and/or statistical analysis, and/or program development and implementation in a Human Resource area related field. Excellent communication and organizational skills and team-work orientation.
