The Admission Office is engaged in a sophisticated, creative and robust recruitment program. We boast a team of experienced staff who work collaboratively to achieve goals. The Office seeks a dynamic and versatile professional to join its ranks as an Assistant Director and whose portfolio will include significant travel, application review and implementing a recruitment plan that recognizes, reinforces, and extends Mount Holyoke’s footprint in the world.
- Oversee a domestic travel territory, the cultivation and evaluation of students from that geographic area
- Travel approximately 6-8 weeks per year on behalf of the Admission Office
- Represent the college nationally, and if required, internationally at high schools and other recruitment venues
- Review and evaluate applications annually; serve as a territory manager
- Oversee, manage, and develop programs that increase MHC’s reach and reputation; including work with alumnae and parents
- Collaborate on program development, organization, and implementation of strategic admission initiatives
- Supervise student volunteers as appropriate
- Host virtual events, such as Skype interviews and chats during the application and yield cycle
- Represent the Admission Office on campus wide committees when required
- Engage in other duties as assigned
- Experience working in a selective college/university admission environment is preferred, as is knowledge about and passion for women’s colleges
- Ability to work collegially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors on a daily basis
- Superior oral, analytic and written communication skills; effective public speaking; an ability to engage with large audiences of prospective students, families, and college counselors
- Experience with Technoloutions Slate CRM preferred; facility/familiarity with Ellucian’s Colleague system desirable
- An understanding of the liberal arts and sciences and an ability to communicate their value clearly, cogently, and confidently
- Sense of humor and ability to remain flexible and nimble in carrying out multiple projects and tasks.
- A current, valid US driver’s license and passport (or passport eligibility)
- Required: Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years in admission or related experience
