Position Summary: Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician performs the technical tasks of many pharmacy-related functions, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws; professional and accreditation standards; and organizational policies and procedures. Pharmacy-related functions include greeting of clients, entry of prescription data into the QS/1 pharmacy computer system; preparation, packaging, and labeling of prescribed medications for dispensing by the pharmacist; operation of a cash register; and maintenance of medication inventory for the pharmacy and patient care areas.

Education Requirements:
Qualification and Experience: Completion of an accredited nine-month Pharmacy Technician program; or high school diploma or equivalency and one year of pharmacy-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some positions may require certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
