Posting Summary:
The lab of Anne Kenworthy in the Center for Membrane and Cell Physiology at the University of Virginia has immediate openings for multiple postdoctoral fellows to participate in studies of i) the role of cholesterol and membrane rafts in the amyloidogenic pathway of Alzheimer's disease, ii) mechanisms by which bacterial toxins exploit membrane nanodomains, iii) new pharmacological approaches to manipulate raft structure and function, and iv) cellular machinery responsible for internalization of rafts via clathrin-independent endocytosis.

Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics, or a related field, be highly motivated, have a good publication record and an interest in working in a collaborative environment alongside cell biologist, biophysicists, and structural biologists. Experience in membrane biophysics, membrane trafficking, and/or quantitative fluorescence microscopy is a plus.
