Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organization:

The primary purpose of University Testing Services is to provide assessment, evaluation, and university-wide testing services for Fayetteville State University (FSU), prospective students, and the local community through the collection and processing of test data, creation of assessment instruments, and the sharing of measurement and testing expertise to constituencies throughout the FSU campus.
University Testing Services administers exams for the purpose of admissions, class placement, graduation competency, licensure, credentialing, and professional certification. Services provided to incoming and registered students include the Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT), Miller's Analogy Test (MAT), ACCUPLACER, Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA) and a variety of departmental exit and placement exams.

In addition to the services offered to FSU students, University Testing Services assists students in advancing their education by administering entrance exams required by professional schools such as Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), GMAT, and the General Record Exam (GRE), as well as offering certification examinations for teachers such as the PRAXIS and the Foundations of Excellence, and various other certification programs including Board Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and American Council on Exercise. (ACE).

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the position is to administer computer-based and paper-based testing at Fayetteville State University. Work requires scheduling arrangements for computer based test administrations, including receipt, storage, and return of materials and equipment; scheduling of testing sessions; transmission of data to Educational Testing Services, Thomson Prometric, Drake Kryterion, and Psychological Corporation; distribution of CBT information and materials; and dedicated monitoring of test takers in the CBT Center.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
It is essential that the employee be knowledgeable of the University's mission as well as the mission, goals and objectives of University Testing Services. Additionally, the employee must be able to work effectively and interact positively with a diverse, multicultural community of participants. An intermediate level knowledge of database management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications is required. Other essential skills and abilities include:

-Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
-Proven computer skills, such as word processing, database and statistical analysis
-Ability to interact with others in a high-pressure environment
-Familiarity with the university
-Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience (e.g., testing, social science research) or any equivalent combination of experienc and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
