Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation is currently seeking a non-tenured track Adjunct faculty position in Bilingual Education for Spring 2017 and Fall 2017. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Bilingual Education. Candidates must have a strong background in bilingual education or ESL education, or research as well as experience with curriculum and teaching in elementary and/or secondary public schools. Candidates must have a strong mentoring experience with bilingual, immigrant or ESL student populations in the South San Antonio. A preference will be given to candidates who have background knowledge of working with minority populations and culturally diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate education classes focused on bilingual education and language for a variety of learner profiles, as well as teaching graduate classes in bilingual education, Latino research studies or ESL education. Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
Work Hours: Depends on course schedule. Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.
