Director / Staff Attorney

The University of California, Irvine School of Law invites applications for a Director/Staff Attorney in its Center for Land, Environment, and Natural Resources (CLEANR). The Director/Staff Attorney will, in consultation with the Center's Faculty Director, advisors, and affiliates, conceive, develop, and substantively manage the Center's
programming. This primarily includes a workshop roundtable series, convening leading policymakers, practitioners, activists, and researchers from government agencies, industry, and non-governmental organizations to produce action-oriented policy papers, propose legislation, and advance important academic research.

For the Center's workshop roundtable series, the Director/Staff Attorney will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for generative discourse in areas of environmental law, land use law, and associated fields of policy and scholarship. In developing the workshop roundtables, the Director/Staff Attorney will help faculty identify key experts and stakeholders, perform outreach and interviews, help facilitate roundtable dialogues, and collaborate in the authorship of resulting documents and

Additionally, the Director/Staff Attorney will assist in the planning and organization of the Center's other public and student programs, such as semi-annual practitioner-focused conferences, periodic academic symposia and speakers, a student-led literature and film series, and an international interdisciplinary summer institute for future sustainability leaders.

Salary: Range $75,700.00 - $89,450.00
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Contract Position.
Desired start date is open to negotiation, but a start date on or before July 15, 2018 is preferred. This is a contract position.
