Director of University Relations

We seek a Director of University Relations who will elevate the UNI vision, mission and strategic plan through leading a collaborative effort that provides vision and leadership in creating a comprehensive branding, marketing, and public relations strategy.
The director ensures the quality and consistency of and adherence to the university's brand and strategic plan when developing and overseeing marketing and public relations initiatives. The director participates in the development of materials for and the oversight of UNI’s Customer Relationship Management System. The director serves as the primary daily contact for brand awareness and strategy, issues management, and media relations, acts as the university spokesperson, and maintains relationships with key local, regional and national media. The success of this position ultimately depends on an ability to develop strong relationships, especially in the areas of enrollment marketing and recruitment. The director is responsible for leading the Office of University Relations and reports to the President.
A bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, marketing, or related field plus at least eight years of experience in public relations and/or marketing, and five years of administrative leadership experience required. Demonstrated effective team-building and leadership skills; ability to develop and execute short- and long-term objectives; effective oral and written communication skills; and the ability to analyze information and summarize results in a clear and concise manner are required. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
