Position:

Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time Director of Adult Studies Psychology beginning in August 2018. Trinity’s robust psychology department hosts a graduate program in counseling psychology, an adult bachelor’s degree completion program, and a traditional undergraduate major in psychology. Trinity graduates often pursue careers in counseling, research, and other human-service oriented fields in the Chicagoland area and beyond.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Psychology strongly preferred; Master’s degree required. Previous collegiate teaching experience and/or work in a psychology-related field is desired.

Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.

Responsibilities:

This 11-month position is a combined teaching/administrative one, with the majority of time devoted to teaching. The teaching responsibilities, which would match areas of expertise, are primarily in the Adult Studies Psychology program but could include teaching in the traditional and graduate programs. 

The administrative component will include: interviewing prospective students; advising students, hiring and supervising adjunct instructors, overseeing course development and assessment, assisting with marketing the program, and preparing the annual budget. The position includes some evening hours.

Rank and salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, pension, life insurance, and disability insurance.
