Student Services Associate II
Responsible for various areas of student success either in Admissions, Career Services, Financial Aid, etc.; can recruit freshmen and transfer students from high schools & community colleges; makes presentations to student groups; counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process OR coordinate campus scholarships; manage programs for students receiving financial aid; process, track, monitor all institutional scholarships; provide financial aid counseling OR be responsible for recruitment, marketing and customer service for KSU Graduate Programs, etc.; analyze transcripts and other documents to determine eligibility.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Customer Service, this position is directly responsible for face-to-face interaction with our students, families, faculty and staff. This individual must be able to work with diverse populations with a calm demeanor and a willingness to help attitude. In many institutions, this position is called a financial aid counselor.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Respond to student inquiries by working the front desk, responding to tickets from the Communications Center and email inquiries from students. Research and correct any outstanding issues that need to be resolved as a result of these inquires.
Review student's eligibility for HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships.
Award students' financial aid and reviewing awards to ensure they are awarded correctly.
Award students financial aid and perform verification of FAFSA data.
Complete return of funds when necessary (R2T4).
Meet with students and families to review financial aid options.
Ensure financial aid is awarded to students timely and correctly.
This position will be responsible for a portion of the alpha split assigned to all counselors. Previous experience working in a financial aid office is a must for this position. The individual must be comfortable speaking in front of groups and conducting presentations.
Minimum Salary: $15.63

Bachelor's degree and 1 year related experience.
3-5 years of working experience in the Financial Aid Office.
Understanding of federal and state rules and regulations as they apply to financial aid in the State of Georgia.
