Responsible for various areas of student success either in Admissions, Career Services, Financial Aid, etc.; can recruit freshmen and transfer students from high schools & community colleges; makes presentations to student groups; counsels students and parents regarding the admissions process OR coordinate campus scholarships; manage programs for students receiving financial aid; process, track, monitor all institutional scholarships; provide financial aid counseling OR be responsible for recruitment, marketing and customer service for KSU Graduate Programs, etc.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of counselors reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Aid over Client Services. Included in the responsibilities - must respond to student inquires by working the front desk, responding to tickets from the Communication Center and email inquiries from students and/or parents, must research and correct any outstanding issues that need to be resolved as a result of these inquiries, works to successfully complete processes that verification of information listed on the FAFSA, HOPE/Zell Miller evaluations, R2T4 calculations, awarding students properly and adequately in a timely fashion.

Ensuring that awarding is successfully done in a timely fashion for fall, spring and summer terms is vitally important. Summer awarding carries different responsibilities and requires a very detailed approach to ensure accuracy.

The successful candidate will assist in many areas within the Financial Aid Office. Meeting with students and being a customer service champion is of utmost importance. This position will be responsible for a portion of the student population (based on an alpha-split) and will ensure that all needs and concerns are met with this segment of the population.

Minimum Salary: $13.42

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A working knowledge of financial aid within a professional setting in a Financial Aid Office is preferred. A basic understanding of federal and state rules and regulations as they apply to financial aid within the State of Georgia is a preferred qualification. The individual must exemplify flexibility, adaptability, be a demonstrated team player, have the ability to multi-task, be self-motivated, ability to learn quickly within complex systems and rules, be detail oriented, and be a customer service champion.
