The University of Colorado Cancer Center has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Cancer Prevention and Control Senior Study Coordinator position.

Nature of Work

The University of Colorado Cancer Center Prevention and Control program is looking to hire a full-time Study Coordinator to provide oversight and lead organizational aspects to a number of ongoing research projects. The projects mostly involve skin cancer prevention intervention delivery and evaluation, including working with local schools to deliver skin cancer prevention programs; working with clinical populations to improve skin cancer prevention behaviors; coordinating the efforts of interviewers and recruiters; and conducting telephone interviews. This position operates at a fully independent level.

  • Conduct in-classroom assessments

  • Provide input into publications and interdepartmental projects
  • Create de-identified datasets as needed for analysis
  • Provide written methods and results for manuscripts
  • Provide documentation of methods and approaches.

Salary and Benefits

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health promotion, epidemiology or related field plus 2 years' project coordination experience
  • Experience in a research environment.


Substitution: Master's degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, health evaluation or social sciences (or related field) can substitute for the bachelor's degree and experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with patient recruitment and consenting
  • Experience with delivering educational interventions
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary research teams
  • Experience working with elementary and middle school children
  • Experience with interviewing for medical research studies
  • MS or MPH in epidemiology, public health, health evaluation or social sciences (or related field)

  • Knowledge of epidemiologic research methods
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Collaborative work skills
  • Ability to handle to handle and prioritize multiple tasks on tight deadlines
