Visiting Instructor in Music Technology (Pos#000992)
Posting Information: Visiting 9 month fixed term Instructor in Music Technology, one year. The Commercial and Electronic Music Program within the School of Music at Western Carolina University seeks candidates for a one-year, non-renewable appointment as a Visiting Instructor in Music Technology. The position will be expected to teach related courses within the School of Music and serve on applicable committees. Duties may include courses in 2-3 of the following areas depending upon qualification and experience: audio recording arts, music notation, digital audio editing with Pro Tools, film scoring, field audio acquisition, sound design and/or audio post production. Other duties may be assigned by the department head commensurate with the abilities and interests of the applicant and the needs of the department. Additional non-instructional duties will include serving on the Commercial and Electronic Music Program advisory committee. Salary competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: A masters degree in music is required. Demonstrated expertise in music technology and production and a successful record of college teaching is expected.
Preferred Qualifications: A terminal degree in music or ABD is preferred. Experience in a commercial large format academic studio is preferred.
