The Clinical Data Management (CDM) Senior Analyst Programmer will be assigned to Database Development, Reporting and/or Data Integration projects.
The Senior Analyst Programmer is responsible for planning, conducting, validating, and maintaining the design and development phases of clinical research databases and/or related reports and data integration requirements.
This includes authoring and review of solution requirements and specifications, database interfaces and data entry system development, data validation code, reports, and data integration code.
Knowledge of information system architecture, services oriented architecture, ETL and metadata management and analytics tools required.
The Senior Analyst Programmer will be assigned to all aspects of design and development from basic to the most complex projects.
The Senior Analyst Programmer will serve as the lead programmer on multiple and concurrent projects.
The Senior Analyst Programmer assists Data Management staff in interpreting client requirements,recommending appropriate technical solutions, and assists in documenting technical specifications.
He/she authors technical requirements, implements designs and develops,tests and maintains projects of significant complexity, including providing solutions to support emerging data management methods.
He/she ensures adherence to CDM and applicable industry standards for clinical database design and development, and serves as Programming Lead on new development projects,including assignment and oversight of development tasks to assigned project programming team and coordination with other functional team and external resources.
Project Management Scope of Work Communicates status for all project programming tasks to appropriate team members.Creates and reviews documentation of standard operating procedures,work instructions, and programming guidelines.
Collaborates with Information Technology staff supporting the DCRI computing environment,databases and applications.May represent DCRI with external research partners, standards development organizations and other industry organizations.
Reporting and Data Integration Develops and programs database objects,such as tables,views, and procedures, using SQL programming or UML driven design tools.
Designs and develops reports using Cognos Report Studio or similar reporting tools.Designs and develops database interfaces and ETL procedures.Analyzes clinical database structures, and creates programming for data extraction and transfers,analysis and reporting.Analyzes data integration requirements and develops appropriate solutions for processing and importing data from various external sources using multiple sets of tools.
Clinical Data Management Analyst Programmer, Sr.Meetings Directs internal and external project team meetings that may include cross-functional groups, sponsors, and external stakeholders (e.g., data management team meetings,on-line review).
Knowledge Minimum of 5 years prior development experience in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and understand client requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience translating client requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Experience programming with relational databases, data repositories or warehouses, especially development of tables, views, procedures, and functions.
Experience with Oracle RDBMS.
Experience with UML modeling and model drive development tools such as Enterprise Architect.Advanced SQL programming skills.
Experience programming in PL/SQL.Experience with XML, XSLT.
Experience integrating data from various sources.
Experience with ETL and metadata management practices and tools, suchas Informatica.
Experience with a reporting application package such as Cognos Report Studio, Oracle Reports,SQLServer Reporting Services, or similar reporting tool
Experience with CDISC (e.g. Study Data Tabulation Model). HL7 or similar research or health care oriented data integration standards.
Experience with healthcare and research information systems.
Experience developing with VB,VB.NET, C#, or similar programming language.Uses interactive computer programs (including MS Office and clinicaltrial applications) and quickly learns/adapts to new programs.
Training Maintains a working knowledge of clinical data management systems.
Manages and provides publicly available external training courses or certification programs.
Presents information from external training sessions and conferences.
Technical Requirements Provides expertise and leadership for defining data management project requirements, considerations and effective implementation options utilizing novel or complex data systems and coordination of appropriate resources.
Assists Data Management in the design and implementation of appropriate data integration plan for complex projects.Provides input for creation and maintenance of department work processes.
Administrative Works with Program Managers to adequately resource project needs. Leads departmental initiatives.
Coaches, mentors, and helps provide support to new project team members on project tasks.
