Askew Student Life Center Concessions & Coffee Shop Staff

The Oglesby Union is a diverse and engaging community that fosters individual and collective learning by providing outstanding services and opportunities for involvement. The Askew Student Life Center was established to educate, entertain, and serve the FSU student body with a wide range of programming, events, and services.

The Concessions and Coffee Shop staff are employed in the Student Life Cinema and Grindhouse Caf. They work the register, handle customers, and make sure all inventory items are replenished and ready to serve.

Handling cash/credit, register operations, and paperwork daily at Concessions stand and Grindhouse.

Provide excellent customer service to patrons.

Operating specialized food service equipment including an espresso machine, a popcorn machine, etc.

Maintaining daily inventory and regularly restocking items.

Organizing and cleaning all stock rooms, work spaces, and customer areas.

Following all health department and cleanliness expectations anywhere food is handled.

Replacing equipment supplies when needed like CO2 tanks, oil, and soda syrups.

Participates in annual ASLC Staff Training.
Other duties as assigned.


A high school diploma or equivalency and the ability maintain at least a 2.3 GPA while employed.


Prior work experience (cash-handling)

Learning Outcomes:

Students will learn how to work with money, inventory, and all necessary functions of a retail business.

Students will develop customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through working sell-out showings, advanced screenings, and completion of day to day operations.


Prior ASLC volunteering experience

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
