Responsibilities

This position will interface, connect with and tell Central stories to external constituencies, including prospective students, families, alumni, donors, corporations, foundations and friends of the college. We are seeking someone to help build our brand, increase awareness of our academic program offerings and grow the college’s digital presence.

We need a talented photographer and videographer to develop and create visual storytelling across multiple platforms to inform, engage and entertain Central audiences and support the college’s communication and marketing goals. A key player on the integrated marketing communications team, this position captures photographs and video of a variety of events, including faculty and staff, campus scenes, campus activities, signature athletics events, buildings, individuals, groups and more. This position leads the production of multi-image, multi-media and video presentations, including pre- and post-production responsibilities.

We’re looking for someone with exceptional video and photography skills, including a high command of video, sound, camera, lights, and software. We also need someone who possesses an understanding of copyright regulations and privacy laws, accessibility guidelines and livestreaming. We work in an Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Cloud editing environment.

Reporting to the director of integrated marketing communications and media, this position will help guide and support the college’s communication priorities and strategies for student success.

The person in this role must have a great attitude and understand digital and traditional channels used to reach and engage with an audience. As part of a learning organization, the content specialist – photography and videography will have the opportunity to sharpen existing skills and hone new ones in a fast-paced, results-driven and supportive environment.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, multimedia, broadcasting, journalism or film. One to five years of successful experience in communications, public relations, social media, design, photography or videography is desirable. Will consider recent graduates eager to learn.

In addition, the successful candidate will have an interest in and curiosity for all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the college through developing excellent relationships with faculty, staff, students, volunteers and colleagues.
