Job Summary


The Marketing Operations Manager for the Miami Film Festival (MFF) and Tower Theatre (TWR) plans and implements a cohesive marketing plan designed to enhance revenues, attendance and broaden awareness of each brand while overseeing the operational aspects of the Tower Theater and Miami Film Festival special events. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develops, plans and executes distinct and separate marketing plans for the Miami Film Festival and Tower Theater
  • Creates, secures and fosters media sponsorships including the negotiation, drafting and execution of proposal contracts in compliance with College's requirements
  • Builds and nurtures community engagement with niche constituencies that are strategically aligned to each of the brands
  • Oversees and implements social media strategy that includes generating, editing and publishing creative and timely content that enhances brand presence
  • Maintains active websites with high degree of functionality, timely and relevant information and employs tactics for driving web traffic to the MFF-TWR websites
  • Creates and oversees MFF-TWR electronic and print communications including mass marketing communications to consumers, specialized industry and press communications and promotional copy for both brands' channels
  • Manages project timelines and oversees production of content to deadlines, including overseeing graphic and web design consultants and obtaining necessary approvals of all content prior to publication
  • Creates and executes “thank you” wrap packages and detailed reports at the conclusion of each media sponsorship contractual relationship, incorporating a renewal request strategy
  • Manages annual budget for marketing placements purchases
  • Creates seasonal “blueprint” and component deadlines for operational fulfillment of major activities
  • Recruits, trains and oversees team of consultants, vendors, interns, volunteers, temporary and contractual personnel involved in operations and special events; and ensures key deliverables are conducted on schedule and with highest degree of quality
  • Coordinates artists and industry guests travel accommodations and hospitality needs within a pre-approved budget
  • Oversees ticketing practices, creating streamlined internal and external processes designed for maximum accountability, simplicity and efficiency in a high volume environment
  • Oversees the creation of a credentialing system for key stakeholders for MFF-TWR as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Master's degree in Film from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience in theater or arts programming and organizing events; or Bachelor's degree in Film from an accredited institution and six (6) years of experience in theater or arts programming and organizing events
  • All degress must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goaIs and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary and historical world cinema art and industry, as well as domestic art cinema market
  • Knowledge of best practices in current marketing and theater operation trends
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Possess strong writing skills, including ability to write business correspondence, clear email communications, draft contracts and write reports
  • Possess excellent managerial skills with ability to make important sound decisions and effectively problem solve on a regular basis
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence, articulation and professional speaking abilities 3/2
  • Ability to adapt to demanding environments and maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
  • Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge in event logistics, event management, advertising and marketing
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
