The College of Nursing and Health Professions (CONHP) at Valparaiso University invites applications for faculty positions in the Physician Assistant program.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.

The Valparaiso University PA program is a 5-year program including both an undergraduate and a graduate curriculum.  Students will earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in the first 3 years and upon graduation from the BSHS program, students will enter into the 2-year graduate Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program.

Physician Assistant Faculty will be responsible for the delivery of the educational content of the program.  Activities will include instruction, academic advising, program evaluation, clinical site development, and service on university committees.  Positions are full-time, 12-month faculty appointments reporting directly to the Director of Didactic Education or Program Director.  Positions are announced at the assistant professor level; outstanding candidates may be considered for a higher rank commensurate with experience and scholarly activity.  Physician assistants with master’s degree or higher and minimum of 3 years clinical experience preferred.

Valparaiso University is a distinguished private university of over 4,000 students located in Valparaiso, IN, one hour southeast of downtown Chicago.  The College of Nursing and Health Professions has programs in nursing (BSN, MSN, and DNP), health care leadership (BSHCL), health administration (MHA), public health (BSPH and MPH), and physician assistant studies (BSHS and MSPA).

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Valparaiso University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Valparaiso University.  Valparaiso University anticipates matriculating its first class in August 2018 to the graduate MSPA program, pending achieving Accreditation-Provisional status at the March 2018 ARC-PA meeting.
