Under the general supervision of the Buildings/Grounds Supervisor, this position performs advanced level security systems analysis, designs security and safety systems, and leads agency development in the performance of these duties.
This position assists in the management and development of the electronic security management program for UW-Madison, including designing electronic security systems for remodel and new construction projects. The systems must work in conjunction with the existing security program utilized by the department, including card access, intrusion alarm, video, audio, fire and emergency annunciation systems, and computer-based security programs.
This position also works on complex electronic systems, building maintenance, and data collection. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, fabricating, and repairing electronic equipment to the component level; interfacing software, instrumentation equipment, and electronic equipment; maintaining records and schematics of electronic component parts; and ordering parts.
This position is also responsible for maintaining, repairing, and providing training for the door access control, and other electronic devices at multiple UW-Madison and other UW campus buildings, including off-campus properties.
This position conducts meetings to discuss client access options; assess the security needs for other campus departments, contributes to the development of keying plans, maps and programs security installations, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, adjusts, and installs a variety of access options to buildings (e.g., electronic access, key controlled access, doors, safes, vaults, etc.).
8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon-Friday
