Department Overview
The academic Student Navigator for the System College of Pharmacy provides leadership for a cohort of students in all aspects of their educational journey while enrolled in the College of Pharmacy. The student navigator is responsible for supporting structured leadership development activities, serving as a liaison to university faculty, staff, and administrators, and facilities cohort participation in School of Pharmacy and university functions.
The student navigator supports the management of all aspects of an assigned section of the SCP curriculum under the supervision of the Director and Program Coordinators.

Position Details
The Office of the Dean - Pharmacy Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Pharmacy Academic Student Navigator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Serve as a liaison to students within the cohort.
* Work with the cohort student leadership to assist in setting goals for the cohort, develop a strategy to create community within the cohort and maintain cohort member enthusiasm and engagement through the year.
* Oversee the planning and execution of all events and activities for the cohort.
* Gather and provide data under the direction of leadership for all cohort events which can then be used to assess the proficiency of the program.
* Collaborate with assigned course directors on the implementation of the curriculum and activities that support the academic success of the program.
* Serve as a student advocate and collaborate with university staff in the development of intervention strategies for struggling students and refers students to additional support services on an as needed basis.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Demonstrated effectiveness n applying student leadership theory/practices.
* Demonstrated effectiveness in program development, implementation and evaluation.
* Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
