Minimum $30,207 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelors degree required, preferably in Biological Sciences, Physiology, Animal Biology or Biomedical Engineering, or related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Experience with placing I.V. lines, anesthetizing, handling, monitoring, and recovering live animals, primarily non-human primates, is desirable but not required. Training can be provided if needed.

Knowledge of the eye or optics preferred but not required.

Ability to act independently and/or carry out requests for assistance with experiments.

Ability to understand ocular anatomy and physiology to perform ocular experiments in non-human primates.

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills so that projects can be coordinated and proceed efficiently in terms of time, animals, materials, and personnel requirements.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as an integral research team member, working closely with the principal investigator and other staff to meet the operational and research needs of the Presbyopia and Glaucoma Programs, in the Paul L. Kaufman laboratory in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.

Additional Information:

This is a one year fixed term terminal position. But this may be extended for one more year and/or be converted to a renewable position contingent upon funding.
