Leadership
  • Direct and coordinate various personnel functions, including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, FMLA, performance management, vacation schedules and office coverage for team of 11 Staff Assistants and 1 Access Coordinator
  • Conduct weekly meetings with team to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures & practices; implement new policies and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meeting with individual staff members to direct and prioritize work, assess progress and review performance
  • Supervise office activities of the clinical practice support area, reviewing completed work for correctness and adherence to instructions. This includes patient care follow up including sending pathology letters, updating health maintenance records and entering patient appointment recalls
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance knowledge through orientation, self-evaluation, and professional development

Clinical Operations
  • Provide administrative direction and coordination in the formulation, interpretation and administration of current and long range policies, procedures and programs for the Clinical Mission for the Division of Duke Gastroenterology
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer activities of the GI clinical programs to include developing and implementing procedures, processes, services and systems; train employees across the various entities in proper methods, procedures and ensure correctnessof work
  • Make operational and programmatic decisions that have a significant impact on the successful achievement of the clinical programs strategies and objectives; Develop, coordinate and advise staff regarding GI clinical program policy
  • Divisional contact and expert on scheduling processes for:
    • 35 MDs, 17 APPs, 1 Advanced Fellow and 14 Fellows
    • 10 Locations including: 3 Hospitals, 6 Endoscopy procedure sites, 4 Clinic locations and 1 Infusion suite

Divisional Liaison
  • Represent the assigned division in meetings,conferences and maintenance activities within the PDC operations, PRMO, Duke University Health System, and School of Medicine
  • Maintain liaison with all levels of administration, physicians and clinic locations to coordinate clinic business, accomplish directives and to facilitate the resolution of problems
  • Serve as divisional liaison with faculty, staff, HCAs, CODs, and scheduling center concerning divisional policies and procedures and operational performance improvement
