General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Temporary Ecological Protection Lab Assistant. The Ecological Protection Lab is a program of the Environmental Leadership Center, which supports service, research, and teaching activities that promote leadership and stewardship in preserving and enhancing the environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Ecological Protection Lab Assistant will:

  • Assist with Ecosystem Restoration Assessment
  • Assist with Environmental Sampling
  • Assist with Site Analysis and Determination
  • Assist with communication of Restoration Efforts
  • Promote other ELC projects and activities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have proficiency in public speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of basic biology lab equipment and instruments
  • Competency in basic gardening equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in rugged terrain, varying temperatures, and around common allergens

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Working toward a bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a laboratory assistant is a plus but not required
  • Biology majors with an interest in entomology and environmental studies preferred
