The Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for the position of a visiting assistant, associate or professor of art education for the 2018-2019 academic year. This is a one-year, full time, non-tenure track position in a tier one-research university. Located in the culturally diverse and vibrant city of Austin, Texas, the University provides excellent resources for research. The department offers a MA and BFA in the area of Art Education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate art education and related courses. Additional duties include advising students, both undergraduate and graduate, service to the college and university, coordinating field placements for school-based observation and student teaching assignments, and continued enhancement of the art education program.
Rank is open. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package is included. Start date is August 20, 2018.
Qualifications must be commensurate with rank and include a record of and commitment to quality teaching, publication record, and professional experience teaching in primary/secondary schools, in museum education, or in community-engaged practice.
