This position serves as the primary grant coordinator for the Department of Physics' Sponsored Research group. Oversees pre-award and post-award processes and supervises Grants Compliance Associates.
Oversees the initiation, approval, and audit of all departmental fiscal activities for the sponsored funds management of Physics, including pre- and post-award and proposal development activities; interprets agency, college, and University policies and provides guidance related to sponsored project initiatives; recommends policies and procedures for the department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university requirements.
Monitors fiscal activities for reporting purposes and to ensure compliance with applicable agency, University, and State policies. Analyzes, verifies, records, and tracks all transactions of a financial nature. Prepares integrated financial and statistical reports, financial statements, and/or budget projections for short and/or long-term impact(s) on sponsored funding.
Lead grant coordinator for the department: supervises Grants Compliance Associates, including hiring, training, employee development, and evaluation. Reviews project reconciliations prepared by employee(s) and provides corrective action as needed. Serves as departmental liaison and representative for sponsored funds to various college and university entities.
Oversees the CMMP auxiliary fund. Reviews revenue and expenditures, approves transactions, and monitors revenue reconciliations for reporting purposes to necessary department and/or University entities. Works with accountant to develop and submit annual auxiliary rate calculations and backup to applicable university offices.
Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience is required.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience with Microsoft Office products, to include Excel.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Experience supervising employees to include effectively training and directing the work of others.
Experience preparing, monitoring, and reporting on financial transactions.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Experience reviewing and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of federal, state, and private sources for sponsored project funds.
Experience with FSU grants management and/or FSU accounting is preferred.
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipate hiring in the mid $40,000s, commensurate with experience.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
