Responsibilities

The Student Conduct Coordinator ( SCC ) is a live-in graduate staff member that assists with the overall management of the student conduct program in order to support the holistic development of students in a Catholic liberal arts tradition. The position reports to the Director of the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, adjudication of cases, conflict resolution, community outreach, data management, and administrative functions. As well, the SCC provides on-call support as part of the housing staff duty rotation in the Office of Campus and Residential Services. This is a graduate level, ten-month academic year appointment (8/1/18 - 5/31/19).


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four year college by start date. Continuous full-time enrollment in a graduate program at Marymount University or a neighboring university.

Skills and/or Abilities:
Experience with student conduct hearings in an educational setting; a commitment to student development and alcohol/drug abuse awareness and prevention; and effective oral and written communication skills are required. Must occasionally lift and/or remove up to 25 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications

One year experience as a resident assistant or member of a campus conduct board is preferred.

Responsibility / Duty

Conduct Administration
• Conduct investigations of alleged violations of the community conduct code.
• Act as a hearing officer for low- and mid-level violations of the community conduct code.
• Provide training and guidance to student staff and volunteers related to student conduct.
• Support to the director in the day to day operations of the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity which may include writing letters, issuing of trespass notices, no-contact orders, and meeting with students and parents.

Data Management
• Process all cases by entering them into the database, filing charges, scheduling cases and issuing notices of hearings.
• Assist in the administration of the student conduct database.
• Assist in the maintenance of records related to the Clery Act.
• Perform clerical functions, including data entry, filing, and processing of cases.

Community Outreach
• Develop educational initiatives related to student conduct that support the mission and values of Marymount University.
• Assume responsibility for the development, implementation, and assessment of at least one special project which may include but is not limited to outcomes assessment, social norm campaigns, sexual violence awareness, conflict resolution and mediation, and/or alcohol and other drug education.

Responsibility / Duty

Departmental Support
• Support the mission, goals, projects, and activities of Marymount University, the Division of Student Development, and the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity.
• Support and assist Campus and Residential Services in the consistent implementation of residential policies.
• Provide on-duty coverage and assistance through collateral assignment as part of housing staff duty rotation.
• Assist, as needed, with Division of Student Development functions such as staff selection, training, and development; convocation and commencement; academic and cross-departmental initiatives; senior week Admissions Office recruitment events, etc.
• Act as a positive role model for the Marymount University community.
• Foster collaborative relationships with other university offices and serve as liaison to staff within the Office of Campus and Residential Services.
• Be able to hold consistent regular office hours during official university business hours.
• Additional duties as assigned.
