Responsibilities

The Department of Literature and Languages at Marymount University in Arlington, VA, invites applications for one full-time, postdoctoral fellowship for AY 2018-19. The position is renewable for up to three years.

Marymount's innovative composition program focuses on public and academic writing with an emphasis on information literacy and writing studies.

We seek applicants with experience teaching writing at the university level, interest in pedagogical development, and a desire to work with a diverse student body. Significant mentorship will be provided as well as opportunities to strengthen the teaching fellow's portfolio. The 3/3 teaching load will include first-year composition and, depending on interests, may include upper-level writing and literature courses, freshmen seminar courses, and graduate-level humanities courses. Fellows are expected to be engaged members of the university and active scholars in their fields. The position carries an annual salary plus benefits and the opportunity for additional summer term teaching if desired.


Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received the PhD in or after 2016, and should have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in English.
