Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS)
This position will serve as grants management, purchasing, and travel support staff for the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS). The incumbent will provide information to the Research Center Director, Program Coordinator, and Accounting Representative to assist in making financial and personnel decisions. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Processing Travel Authorization Requests and Expense Reports for Research Center travelers and visitors; assisting travelers with making reservations and other travel arrangements as requested; serving as a travel card holder for the Research Center.
- Submitting purchase requests for the Research Center; advising faculty and staff on FSU and sponsored project purchasing rules and regulations; serving as a purchasing card holder for the Research Center.
- Helping to maintain the Center's travel, P-card, personnel, requisition, and subcontract databases; posting transactions to grant spreadsheets; downloading monthly OBI transaction details and ledgers.
- Assisting with office management duties; mailing out letters and packages and distributing daily incoming mail; running errands to the main campus; serving as main phone contact for the Center anddirecting calls as needed; assisting with property inventory.
Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma/equivalent and four years of experience. Note: Post-high school education will substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
Experience in an office setting.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel or comparable software.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with FSU OMNI Financials and Business Intelligence.
Experience with grants management and working with Principal Investigators.
Experience with OMNI travel and purchasing transaction processing.
Good communication and organization skills.
The position is located off-campus at COAPS, Research Building A, Innovation Park, Tallahassee, FL.
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated salary range is $30,000 - $32,000/year, depending upon experience.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Criminal Background Check
The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
