Student Affairs Specialist


Cal Teach Science and Mathematics is a UCI academic program jointly sponsored by the School of Education, School of Physical Sciences, and School of Biological Sciences. It is designed to attract and prepare undergraduates from math and science majors to become middle school and high school teachers. The Student Affairs Officer II assists with: student recruitment activities and advertising; student advising; planning and implementation of program activities and events; counseling related to teacher credentialing; analyzing transcripts for credentialing; collecting and reporting data for the CCTC, UCOP and UTEACH; and other administrative support functions associated with program activities. The incumbent works closely with a program Director and program coordinators and is the only program counselor in the Cal Teach office. Additionally, the incumbent will interact with program faculty, academic counselors from the student affairs offices for Education, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and other units, and representatives from high schools, community colleges and other regional organizations.

Salary: Hourly $21.54
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
