Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of Hanford History Project (HHP) owned and managed collections. Duties include creating “finding aids” in compliance with professional standards and encoding finding aids using contemporary tools to make them available to researchers online; facilitates and manages archival and artifactual loans to museums and other institutions; develops and manages HHP's online archive (www.hanfordhistory.com); appraises potential acquisitions; provides research assistance in the use of archival materials; develops policies and/or procedures and directly manages the acquisition, disposition, and access to and safe-keeping of archival materials.

This position is responsible to supervise student interns, volunteers, and part-time-employees; engage in community outreach projects to promote HHP collections and initiatives; directs the Hanford Oral History Project; contributes to scholarly understanding of the Hanford site and its history through research, presentations, and writing; and assumes administrative responsibilities as directed.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
