Job Summary/Basic Function:
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Foundation's Director, responsible for the Foundation's accounting system which includes review of all financial data Input Including gift deposits and distributions from Foundation managed funds and administrative budget. Also responsible for financial reporting (both internal and external) independent audit coordination and regulatory compliance (IRS Form 990)

Primary Duties:
  • Financial Reporting
  • Overview of all data input to the Foundation's accounting software
  • Responsible for the monthly and annual financial statement preparation
  • Prepare other financial reports as needed including annual donor reporting
  • Research, analyze and implement new accounting pronouncements and other best practices that impact financial report processes under the supervision of the Foundation's Director.

  • Coordinate annual audit of Foundation financial statements by independent accounting firm
  • Prepare the draft of the audited financial statements and footnotes

    Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Will manage the legal and resulatory filings including the following:
  • Federal,state and other tax filings -including From 990 Form 990-T, etc., Form 1099's

  • Monitor and test Internal controls as deemed necessary
  • Report on above internal controls to Foundation Director
  • Attend all Foundation and division staff meetings, and other meetings as needed.
  • Perform special projects,as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Job Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required

    Minimum Experience:
    • 7 years of experience required, preferably in non-profit accounting and/or auditing

    Specific Skills:
    • Strong organization and communication skills
    • Excellent analytical skills, well-development decision-making, problem solving skills and research skills
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate orally and to write technical and detailed financial Information in terms that can be understood by persons unfamiliar with financial and legal complexities
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office productions and experience with, or the ability to learn Abila MIP accounting software.
