Job Summary:

This position is responsible for paraprofessional administrative support functions for senior staff under the supervision of Dr. Yoshihiro Kawaoka, Director of the Influenza Research Institute (IRI). The immediate supervisor for the position is the Assistant Director-Administration. This position works closely with the Assistant Director-Administration and senior staff to support the day-to-day operations of the IRI. This individual must be able to interpret complex requests for sensitive information regarding this Select Agent facility. This position will provide travel, conferences/meetings, and E-Reimbursement support as well as other administrative support functions. These functions will include: arranging travel and conferences; on-site support for conferences, support for travelers during travel; and collecting information for E-Reimbursement processing. In addition, this person will be considered the expert and will advise laboratory staff on allowable spending for travel, conferences, and E-Reimbursement. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of, and the ability to interpret and analyze, Department, School, University policies and procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations as well as Federal rules and regulations. This position also requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and professional skills, organizational skills and the ability to interact positively and independently with university administration, faculty and staff and the community at large. This position requires strong oral and written communication skills, exercising initiative and decision-making, and the ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously.

Schedule to be set at time of hire. Will work at least 3 days/week and between 8AM-5PM
