The University of Virginia Elson Student Health Center is seeking a full time Executive Assistant. Student Health offers clinical services to UVA students, providing them with high-quality, accessible medical care in a confidential and sensitive manner. The Executive Assistant will assist the Director of Administration and the Executive Director of Student Health. Duties include performing advanced, diversified and confidential secretarial and administrative duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, competencies, and knowledge of organizational policies and practices.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and four to seven years of experience is required.
The incumbent is required to have strong working knowledge of administrative and human resources procedures. Excellent oral and written communication, including the ability to develop communications for the Executive Director and Director of Administration is also required. The incumbent must be able to work independently or as part of a team and coordinate projects involving multiple stakeholders. The ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential, sensitive, and timely information is also required, along with the ability to prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, create and distribute reports, draft memos and correspondence, and coordinate a busy and shifting office calendar. It is essential that the incumbent have the ability to provide exceptional customer service, organize and maintain personnel files, and perform emergency management audits. Knowledge of the university is preferred. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access and Powerpoint is required, in addition to experience entering and extracting data from datasets.
