The University of Virginia invites applications for the position of Senior Associate in the Office of Organizational Excellence (OE). In partnership with the University community, this role is responsible for leading work to support and advance institutional strategy, priorities, and core mission activities. This individual will serve as a leader, catalyst, and consultant for quality initiatives. Responsibilities span project planning and implementation, facilitation of portfolio management, delivery of internal consulting for schools and units, and programming to build organizational capacity for change and improvement.

The role will work closely with leadership, project managers, and key faculty and staff stakeholder groups and reports to the Associate VP for Organizational Excellence.
-Assist with program planning and administration
-Support University Project Portfolio to enhance project coordination and effectiveness
-Partner with functional areas to support strategic and process improvement initiatives
-Assist project leaders with the development of project plans, timelines, communications, change management plans, and metrics
-Serve as a project manager and/or change manager for select projects or phases of a project
-Collect and analyze data/information to inform decision-making
-Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder engagement for the program and individual projects
-Collaborate with academic and administrative units throughout the university to help them address their priorities and complex problems, while also advancing institutional priorities.
-Develop and implement methods, templates, and tools to provide a consistent and flexible approach from large, complex initiatives to smaller locally-led projects
-Design and deliver organizational development consulting and educational sessions
-Coach, advise and mentor colleagues about quality and improvement

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Applied knowledge of project management, process improvement, organizational development, change management and other relevant methods and tools.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess complex issues and develop relevant, realistic plans to address
Ability to build trusted and effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated facilitation, collaboration, consensus-building and negotiation skills
Exceptional listening and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and across functions and levels
