Job Description

Under general supervision, the Professional Tutor will provide one on one and small group tutoring to current Texas A&M University-San Antonio students in Mathematics. Professional Tutor is responsible for meeting with professors to discuss relevant course material and requirements. Professional Tutor may also conduct information sessions regarding Tutoring Services. Professional Tutor will assist with signing students in/out of Tutoring Center and utilizing tracking database. The primary purpose of the Professional Tutor position is to improve course completion, program retention, and graduation outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct one on one or small group tutoring.
  • Faculty interaction, preparation and training.
  • Schedules and utilizes the tracking system.
  • Performs other duties assigned.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field.
  • Demonstrated profieciency in the subject area.

  • Ability to establish a rapport with students from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and skills sets.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students, employees, and the community.
