Position Summary: The Department of Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina invites applicants for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics. We are looking for a linguist specialized in discourse syntax and semantics and pragmatics of Spanish. Responsibilities include teaching 3 courses per semester, including Spanish Linguistics courses such as Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish varieties (Undergraduate Seminar in Language and Linguistics), Spanish Pragmatics, Structure of Spanish (syntax and morpholoqy), and Spanish language courses, depending on curricular needs. Appointment begins July 1, 2018. This is a one-year appointment with benefits and the possibility for renewal.

Education Requirements: Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics or relevant field required

Qualification and Experience: Specialist in discourse syntax and semantics and pragmatics of Spanish.
