Position Summary: The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) and North Carolina Children's Hospital is recruiting an outpatient pediatrician for an educational and clinical position. We are seeking a pediatrician who will work across the spectrum of care at the UNC Children's Primary Care Clinic. This clinic is an innovative academic practice with focus on high quality clinical care, comprehensive care including advocacy, resident education, and high quality research. This faculty member will precept residents in their continuity clinic, maintain a small direct care faculty practice, and provide outpatient child abuse evaluations one day per week. The child evaluation clinic is a very well supported, integrated care environment with high levels of social work collaborative care. Other clinical opportunities are also possible if desired. Applicants with previous experience or strong interest in any of the following arenas are especially encouraged to apply: mental health in primary care, developmental and behavioral care, or issues surrounding child abuse or neglect. Spanish language fluency is preferred but not required. Applicants from groups underrepresented in Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply. GPAM is the largest division in the Department of Pediatrics and includes outpatient care, hospital medicine, child abuse pediatrics, newborn care, and other affiliated specialty services. The division has a nationally-known and productive research program and a long record of teaching excellence. The Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina is an attractive place to live and work with great climate, schools, and both mountains and beach within a day drive.
