Position Summary: The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a well-qualified leader to serve as Chair for the Department of Neurology. The Department of Neurology provides expert neurological consultation and specialty neurological care at the North Carolina Neurosciences Hospital on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill, and at a modern, outpatient clinic facility located nearby. The Department has a total of 49 faculty members, 11 of whom exclusively conduct research. Faculty members train the next generation of physicians through ACGME- accredited and UCNS-certified residency programs. Currently there are 22 adult neurology and five child neurology residents. The department advances medical knowledge with active clinical, translational and fundamental research. Much of this research is conducted within the adjacent Neurosciences Research Building in 7,000 square feet of wet laboratory space. This building also houses the UNC Neuroscience Center, which brings together researchers from many disciplines working on fundamental problems in basic and clinical neuroscience. The adjoining UNC Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) houses state-of-the-art imaging equipment for human subject and animal research.

Education Requirements: Minimum qualifications include an MD and/or DO. Applicant must be board certified in Neurology.
